Dr. Montanarella
Owner/Doctor
Dr. Mary Jo Montanarella grew up in upstate New York in the Rochester area. She is a board certified ob-gyn physician and fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry summa cum laude from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She received her medical degree and ob-gyn residency training from the University of Rochester and the much acclaimed Strong Memorial Hospital. In 1990, she moved with her family to Bedford, NH to begin her ob-gyn private practice. She and her spouse Joe raised four children. Her personal interests include charity work, travel, exercise, reading, knitting, Italian cuisine, and flying. Her areas of specialization include ob-gyn, menopause counseling, infertility, female incontinence and non-invasive gynecology surgery. In addition to continuing to elevate her gynecology practice she’s expanded her commitment to Aesthetic services to support women’s youth, health and life vitality.
Awards and Certifications
Dr. Montanarella has been licensed since 1990 when she moved from New York to New Hampshire. She has continually held membership and fellowship status in the National American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ACOG), ABOG (American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology), NH Medical Society organization and activities, and certified for AIUM ultrasound and ISCD bone density procedures. She has also been active in national organizations i.e. mostly notably NAMS, SART, and AFS. Her awards include Patients’ Choice Favorite Physician Award in 2011, NH Top Doctor for 5 years, (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010) and been honored by NH Magazine for several years. She is one of the esteemed few to perform the renowned DaVinci Robotic Surgery. She has also been a featured pharmaceutical speaker for American Medical Systems, Eli Lil, Cynosure, and Thermi. She most recently was certified as training site for the Cynosure Mona Lisa Touch laser and Thermi.

Christine Purcell, CMPE
Practice Manager
Christine has been the Practice Manager with Dr. Montanarella & Associates, PA from the practice’s inception in 2003. She has in-depth knowledge and experience in medical practice operations with more than 17 years’ experience as a Practice Manager, which is complemented by her decade of work as a Certified Medical Assistant. Christine oversees all Practice operations, including a newly established aesthetic division. Her primary dedication is to provide a superior experience for patients. To demonstrate her level of expertise and commitment to excellence, in 2018 she earned her certification as a Certified Medical Professional Executive through the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
